Annandale-on-Hudson, NY – Sophomore Cassidy Dumont tied her career-high with 29 points as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team picked up a 66-46 win over Bard College on Friday evening.

The Golden Knights improved to 7-8 overall and 3-6 in Liberty League contests, while the Raptors fell to 1-15 and 0-9. Clarkson looks for a weekend sweep when it faces Vassar College on Saturday.

The outlook was not good in the first few minutes, as Clarkson was whistled for four fouls and missed its first six shots in the opening moments of the game against the Raptors. Bard raced out to a 9-0 lead before Cassidy Dumont sunk a baseline jumper at 5:27 to put the Golden Knights on the scoreboard. Things quickly turned around in the next few minutes as a 9-2 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Dumont with 16 seconds remaining, pulled Clarkson to within two after the first period.

Bard returned its lead to as many as five in the second quarter, but Clarkson pulled ahead with a 3-pointer from Dumont and then a layup-and-one from Dumont to put the score at 21-20. Though the game was tied briefly near the midway point of the quarter, the Knights built their lead to eight on another 3-pointer from Dumont, and on the ensuing possession, Raelin Burns picked the pocket of a Bard guard and went in for a lefty layup at 1:38 (34-26). After its slow start, Clarkson was 14-for-25 (56.0%) from the field over the final 15 minutes of the first half.

In the third, Bard reduced the gap to one at the start of the period, but Clarkson went on a 13-2 run after that make and had its first double-digit lead of the contest. Up by 10 through three periods, Clarkson would push its lead into the teens in the fourth and never looked back, outscoring the Raptors 15-5 in the final quarter.

Dumont carried the Knights offensively in the first half, scoring 20 of the team's 34 points, but Clarkson came on in the second half to spread out the scoring. Dumont finished with 29, tying her collegiate-high from an overtime game in January 2022. Frosh Raelin Burns scored 17 points to go along with five steals, while Mariah Benavides added nine points and five assists. Elaina Porter also chipped in six points and 10 rebounds.

For Bard, Thalia Grandinetti scored 14 points and Jade Dinkins notched 10 points. Maggy Peyton also had six points and 13 rebounds.
