WBB: George, Panthers tame Thomas

 

PLYMOUTH, N.H. The Plymouth State University women's basketball team defeated Thomas College, 57-44, in a non-conference game in Foley Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

The Panthers led for the entire game, riding a double-digit lead in the first quarter through the remainder of the contest. Thomas kept nipping at the heels of the Panthers, but key defensive stops and timely baskets helped PSU keep the Terriers at arm's length.

Freshman Sophie George (Meredith, N.H.) led the way yet again scoring 17 points for the Panthers. Junior Lauren Keller (Fort Morgan, Colo.) scored 11 points of her own, while senior Sarah Sweet (Narragansett, R.I.) contributed eight points in only ten minutes of action.

Plymouth State improves to 3-2 on the season, while the Terriers dip to 0-7.
