Offense Stumbles in Wolves Loss

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost at Nazareth College 67-29 in an Empire 8 Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

Lauren Hill (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) contributed nearly half of Keuka College's (1-21, 0-14 Empire 8) points, scoring 12 off the bench for the Wolves. Hill also added a game-high 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.

Nazareth College 67 vs. Keuka College 29

It was a slow start for both teams as it was scoreless three minutes into the contest. Nazareth got the first points, a three, and proceeded to score the first seven of the game. The Wolves got on the board on a Lauren Hill layup with 1:42 left in the first. Nazareth led 12-2 after the ten minutes.

The Golden Flyers pulled away in the second with their three-point shooting. The hosts hit five threes in the frame to pace their attack. Nazareth scored 10 unanswered over the final four minutes to close out the first half and lead 38-9 at the break.

Nazareth continued to attack in the third. The Golden Flyers outscored the Wolves 21-9 in the frame. Keuka got four points from Sydney Brown (Lowville, N.Y. / Lowville Academy) and Lauren Hill hit what would be Keuka's only three in the game. Nazareth College led 59-18 going to the fourth.

The Wolves would win the fourth quarter. Lauren Hill had four points and Sydney Brown grabbed five rebounds. Keuka took the fourth 11-8, but the game was in hand for Nazareth as they defeated the Wolves 67-29.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold conclude their 2021-22 season next weekend with a pair of games at home. The Wolves host Hartwick College on Friday night and then play their final game of the season on Saturday afternoon against Russell Sage College.
