Giants Pull Away Late to Defeat Falcons, 73-60

La PLUME, Pa. – Keystone women's basketball pulled away late to defeat Cedar Crest, 73-60, Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference play at the Gambal Athletic Center.

The Giants controlled majority of the affair but the Falcons kept it close down the stretch as the game saw six total ties with eight lead changes.

The score was tied, 54-54, for the final time near the mid-way mark of the fourth quarter, but the Giants unleashed an 11-2 run to effectively put the game away.

Keystone improved to 12-4 CSAC, 14-7 overall to wrap up the penultimate week of the regular season.

Cedar Crest fell to 4-11 CSAC, 5-13 overall.

Outstanding Performers

  • Bella Lamonea (Glendora, Calif./South Hills) put up a team-high 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers to go along with five rebounds.
  • Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview) followed with 18 points on four 3-pointers and eight assists.
  • Abby Ritz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) tallied up her fifth consecutive double-double, scoring all 12 of her points in the second half and grabbing her final rebound on the last shot.
  • Ashley Wilson had a game-high 22 points for Cedar Crest. She also had seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

  • The Giants shot 8 of 10 from the field and 10 for 13 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter while the Falcons were 8 for 18 from the field and 1 of 3 at the charity stripe.
  • Keystone got to the free-throw line 19 times, making on 14 of those attempts (73.7 percent). Cedar Crest shot 7 of 9 (77.8 percent).
  • Beyond the arc, the Falcons were just 3 of 20 (15.0 percent) while the Giants splashed 11 of 25 (44.0 percent).
