Wolves Downed at Utica 65-32

UTICA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost on the road on Saturday at Utica College 65-32 in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Keuka College (1-9, 0-2 Empire 8) was led by Lauren Hill (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) with 11 points and seven rebounds. Jenna LaMere (Scottsville, N.Y. / Wheatland-Chili) added eight points and six rebounds for the Wolves.

Utica College 65 vs. Keuka College 32

The Wolves struck first on Saturday as Amelia Poole hit a three for Keuka a minute in for the 3-0 lead. The Pioneers answered in a big way. Utica College scored 18 straight to take control. As the first quarter expired, Lauren Hill hit a three from half-court to snap the Utica run, but the Pioneers led 18-6 after one.

Utica College stayed in control in the second. Lauren hill had four points and Julia Bauder (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) knocked down a three, but the Wolves were outscored 18-7 in the quarter and trailed 36-13 at the half.

Jenna LaMere led the Wolves in scoring in the third, bookending the quarter with threes for Keuka. It was the first multi-three game for the sophomore. The Wolves, however, were outscored 19-10 in the third and trailed 55-23.

The Pioneers saw the game out in the fourth. They outscored the Wolves 10-9 in the frame to defeat Keuka College 65-32.
