MILWAUKEE, WI - Alex Fanning has been selected as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Benedictine played only one game over Thanksgiving week, a 68-63 win over visiting North Central College. During the victory, Fanning was all over the floor. The senior 2x All-Region player and 2019-20 NACC Player of the Year, scored 18 points while hauling in 14 rebounds to go with four assists, three steals and three blocks. Fanning currently sits second in the conference in rebounds and 10th in scoring. Fanning has won five awards from the conference in her career with four coming during the Player of the Year season in 2019-20.

Benedictine (2-3) opens conference play tonight against Dominican at home.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University forward Alex Fanning (Elmwood Park, Ill.) has been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 22-28, 2021, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Fanning, a senior, registered a double-double in Benedictine's 68-63 nonconference win over North Central (Ill.) on Nov. 23. She scored 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting with three 3-pointers and pulled down 14 rebounds while adding four assists, three steals, and three blocks.
