Rhodes women's basketball earned their fifth Southern Athletic Association Tournament title Saturday evening with a 66-52 victory over co-regular season champion and host, No. 6-ranked Millsaps. Rhodes continues to hold more SAA tournament championship teams than any other women's basketball program in the conference's history, earning championships in 2019, 2015, 2014 and 2013.

After defeating No. 5-ranked Oglethorpe in the semifinals Friday, the Lynx opened the championship game with a three-pointer from senior Caroline Taylor on their way to an 18-12 first quarter advantage. Rhodes finished the first half with a 14-point advantage (31-17) after taking advantage of 12 Millsaps turnovers and outscoring the Majors 13-5 in the second quarter. The Lynx opened that frame with seven straight points including back-to-back treys from Libby Long. Three of Millsaps' five points came from beyond the arc.

The Majors came out of the break hot, scoring 10 points in a row to pull within six of the Lynx. A 9-1 Millsaps run pulled the hosts within one with 5:42 to go in the third quarter. Rhodes staved off the Majors to hold a 47-42 lead headed into the final frame. Millsaps shot 69.2 percent from the field with a 25-16 scoring advantage, led by Devan Walker's 3-of-3 from the arc. For Rhodes, Allie Mayeux went 2-of-3 from the arc and 4-of-6 in the field.

Rhodes broke open the game once again with nine unanswered points to lead 56-42 with 4:13 to play. Rhodes held the Majors to just 10 points during the quarter as they took as big as an 18-point lead in the game.

Rhodes edged Millsaps in shooting percentage, but sank 18 free throws compared to the Majors' eight. Mayeux and Kiera Downey played all 40 minutes of the game where five Lynx posted double digits. Mayeux led the game with 17 points going 6-of-13 in the field while totaling a Lynx-high eight rebounds.
