LANCASTER, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team made it three wins in a row to start the 2021 season, parlaying another blistering start into a 77-32 decision over the Lancaster Bible Chargers on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• For the third straight game, the Sea Gulls opened on a double-digit scoring run, this time hanging 15 straight before the Chargers broke up the shutout. Kaylee Otlowski got things going with a layup just over a minute into the action, followed by a Lauren Fortescue jumper and a three-point play from Otlowski at the 7:11 mark of the first quarter.
• Amber Onyekwere added a three-point play of her own a minute later, then Kylie Webb downed a trey to make it 13-0 not even four minutes in. The Sea Gulls then went cold for a three-minute stretch, but Otlowski's layup at the 3:26 mark made it a 15-0 start for the visitors.
• LBC finally got on the board with a layup with 3:14 to go in the opening period, followed immediately by an 11-0 Salisbury run over the next two-and-a-half minutes. Kolby Brown scored the final five points of that run, knocking down a three and hitting a pair of free throws in a 17-second span. The Chargers broke that Sea Gull flurry with a three-pointer at the buzzer, making it a 26-5 SU advantage after the first 10 minutes.
• Salisbury owned the paint in the second quarter, converting seven field goals from down low. Otlowski's short-range jumper with 21 seconds left made it a 46-18 margin over Lancaster Bible at halftime.
• The Sea Gulls turned up the defensive heat in the third, keeping LBC off the scoreboard for the entire quarter. The Chargers wouldn't score again until a triple at the 9:09 mark of the fourth, breaking up a nearly 13-minute scoring drought that saw the SU lead balloon from 39-18 to 60-18.
• Salisbury again emptied its bench in the fourth quarter, with seven reserves accounting for 17 of the team's 19 points in the final session.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Kaylee Otlowski led all scorers with 16 points (6-of-10) and hauled in 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season and 18th of her Sea Gull career. Otlowski also punched six steals, five assists and three blocks on the stat sheet.
• Amber Onyekwere poured in 13 points (6-of-11) with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
• Kylie Webb and Kolby Brown each chipped in nine points while Lauren Fortescue added six of her own.
• Sixteen Salisbury players got into the action with 12 contributing on the scoreboard.
• SU shot 40.3 percent (29-of-72) on the evening, with assists on 20 of their 29 field goals. The team also went 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the free-throw line.
• The Sea Gulls are averaging 77 points over their first three games, outpacing their foes by 35 points.
• Salisbury forced a remarkable 38 Lancaster Bible giveaways, notching 24 steals and winning the turnover margin by 22.

LANCASTER BIBLE GAME NOTES

• Lizzy Tilton paced the Chargers with 12 points (4-of-21), shooting 4-of-11 from beyond the arc, and corralled seven boards.
• Jenna Dombach added nine points for LBC, while Adalyn Steiner contributed seven points.
• Lancaster Bible shot 22.6 percent (12-of-53) for the game, including 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from downtown. The Sea Gulls last held an opponent to under 25 percent shooting on Dec. 19, 2019, limiting Elmira to 19.6 percent (10-of-51) from the floor.
