Tommie women reach 20 wins again

Macy Hatlestad sank six 3-point baskets and Brynne Rolland scored 21 points to lead No. 20-ranked St. Thomas Women's Basketball to Saturday's 75-59 win over St. Mary's in the regular-season finale at Schoenecker Arena.

The Tommies (20-5 overall, 16-4 MIAC) posted the program's 11th consecutive 20-win season and its 10th top-three MIAC finish in a row. St. Thomas has won 13 of its last 15 games.

Coach Ruth Sinn's Tommies will be the No. 3 seed for the six-team MIAC playoffs, which start Tuesday when St. Thomas faces St. Catherine and fourth-seed Gustavus is home to play Hamline. Bethel and Augsburg are the Nos. 1-2 seeds.

Noelle Tomes finished with 12 points and four assists. Shayla Wallin added 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks to help the Purple roll up a 52-31 advantage in rebounding.
