WASHINGTON, Pa. – Four players finished in double figures to lead the Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team to a decisive 75-51 non-conference victory over Kenyon College at the Henry Memorial Center. 
 
Both teams entered the rare late season non-conference tilt with identical 15-7 overall records. However, visiting Kenyon from the North Coast Athletic Conference, had no answer for W&J's efficient offense during the course of the contest. 
 
A pair of early three-point field goals by senior forward Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) pushed the home team out to a 10-2 advantage at the 7:38 mark of the first. 
 
W&J followed with eight of the next 10 points, with six more coming from Parker, who drained her first four attempts from behind the three-point line. That run made it 18-4 with 4:25 remaining in the opening quarter of play. 
 
Late in the first quarter, sophomores Maria Lawhorne (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and Hannah Johnston (East Freedom, Pa./Central) connected on back-to-back layups to make the score 22-11 at the 1:11 mark. Kenyon would counter with back-to-back triples to trim the Presidents lead to 22-17 after the first quarter. 
 
The Presidents turned up the defensive intensity in the second quarter, limiting the Ladies to just four points over the 10-minute session. 
 
Leading by nine (30-21) with 2:47 to play in the quarter, W&J tallied the final five points of the quarter, including a layup by freshman guard Kylie McKennen (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) that beat the halftime buzzer. 
 
Early in the third, a three-point basket by freshman guard Carlee Stelter (Wampum, Pa./Mohawk) and a layup by freshman guard Aleena McDaniel (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) swelled the W&J lead to 20 points (44-24) at the 6:45 mark. 
 
The visitors would attempt to battle back, cutting the deficit to 55-42 after three quarters. The Presidents ended any hopes of a Kenyon comeback in the early stages of the fourth quarter. Lawhorne converted four straight at the free throw line, making the score 64-46 with 7:07 to play. 
 
Back-to-back baskets by McDaniel and sophomore forward Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) pushed the lead to 21 points as W&J coasted to the wire-to-wire victory. 
 
W&J produced another strong offensive effort, converting on 49.1 percent (26-53) of its field goal attempts. The Presidents eclipsed 50 percent conversion from the field in both the first and third quarters. Defensively, the Presidents limited Kenyon to just 31.6 percent shooting. 
 
Parker paced the Presidents with 16 points and eight rebounds, while McDaniel matched her season high with 14 points. Seto filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and four steals. 
 
Lawhorne rounded out the quartet in double figures with 10 points. Meanwhile, McKennen added six points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. 

The Presidents (16-7 overall) return to Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Bethany on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Start time is set for 5:30 p.m.
