After exchanging leads early on in the second half, a three-pointer by freshman guard Alyssa Hyland put the Spartans ahead 40-39 with 7:08 to play.  A 7-0 run over a two-minute stretch later in the quarter helped the Spartans take an eight-point lead, 52-44, with 2:18 remaining in the third, and would end the period with a 54-46 advantage over the Tomcats.  CWRU opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back layups by Jones and Hyland to extend their lead to 12 points, 58-46, with 9:02 remaining in the game.  CWRU held Thiel scoreless over the first three and a half minutes of the fourth quarter, taking advantage of the Tomcats' drought to build its lead to as many as 16 points, 62-46, on a layup by sophomore forward Emma Cain with 7:40 left.  The Spartans maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game, en route to the 12-point win, the team's second-highest margin of victory this season.
