It was a personal milestone day for St. Thomas center Hannah Spaulding in Sunday's 92-50 home victory over Trinity (Texas) University in women's basketball play at Schoenecker Arena.

The senior from Annandale, Minn., became the 13th Tommie player to surpass 1,000 career points with her basket in the fourth quarter.

An All-America honoree last season, Spaulding finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and four blocks in 31 minutes on the floor. She had 18 points and six boards in leading the Purple to a 41-30 halftime lead.

No. 3-ranked St. Thomas (9-0) handed the Tigers (5-2) just their second loss of the season. Coach Ruth Sinn's Tommies shot 58 percent on the game, had only eight turnovers, and posted a 44-31 rebounding advantage.

Trinity, playing its second game in two days on their Twin Cities trip, has posted six consecutive 20-win seasons. The 2018-19 Tigers came in receiving votes just out of the national top-25 poll.

Soph Kaia Porter finished with 20 points, four assists and four rebounds. Kaylie Brazil added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists. Sarah Kynski scored 10 points.

Abby Holland led Trinity with nine points.

St. Thomas has won 14 in a row at home and 25 in a row in the regular season. The Toms are off competition for final exams and Christmas break and return with games Dec. 29-30 in Waverly, Iowa at the Wartburg tournament.

Spaulding now has 1,001 points, 490 rebounds, 138 blocks, 69 assists and 44 steals in 91 career games. The Tommies are 93-8 in her era, including a 62-2 mark against MIAC teams.
