The Baruch College Bearcats began their 2018-19 schedule at home with a non-conference contest against the Rangers of Drew University on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats played a strong first half, but the visiting Rangers finished the game with strong shooting to take the season opener, 74-43.

Sophomore Melinda Spahiu led the Bearcats with a near double-double of 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Rookies Milly Ye scored nine points and Natalie Ibelhaupt had eight.

Erin Frederick led the visitors from the Landmark Conference with 16 points and nine rebounds.
