TCNJ DEFEATS RAMAPO IN NJAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ACTION

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team were defeated by The College of New Jersey Lions, 74-55, at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners dropped to 6-16 overall (3-12 NJAC), while the Lions improved to 17-5 overall (12-3 NJAC).

Jenna Harsh kicked the game off with a three pointer at 9:32 to give Ramapo the early lead. But, Lauren Barlow hit one on the other end to tie it up. TCNJ would hit two more threes in the first quarter on their way to a 16-10 lead. They would extend that lead to 13 at 2:08 left in the second quarter. But, Bridgette Buckalew hit a three-pointer and converted on an and-one to cut the lead to eight before the quarter ended. Buckalew would finished the half with 10 points, while Harsh went 3-for-8 from the field for seven points.

The third quarter began with another and-one from Buckalew, where she would hit the free throw to quickly cut the lead to five. Both teams would score 14 points in the quarter. TCNJ, however, would pull away in the fourth quarter to secure a 74-55 win. Four Lions players tallied double-digit points with Jen Byrne notching 17, Kate O'Leary and Samantha Farmulare finishing with 13, and Barlow with 11.

Buckalew led the Roadrunners with 18 points on an efficient 6-for-10 from the field, including two three-pointers. Harsh finished with 11 points while Jessica Repasy and Amber Sagan had nine and seven points respectively.

The next time the Roadrunners are in action will be on the road at Rutgers-Camden on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
