Gwynedd Mercy Women Use Three-Point Barrage To Extend Win Streak

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy tied a season-high with 15 three-pointers en route to their seventh victory in a row as the Griffins took down Cairn, 70-40, in CSAC action Friday night at The Griffin Complex.

Susan Bossler hit four of those three's to finish with 16 points. Bianca Adams drained three and totaled 12. In total, 12 different players scored points in the conference win. Larissa Leyes, Olivia Roseman, and Jill Kane each had two triples as well.

In the first quarter alone, GMercyU was 6-for-11 from behind the arc to help them get out to a 22-4 lead after one. The team stayed hot into the second, adding four more longballs to build a 39-11 edge at halftime.

Payton Emerick totaled seven points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders (6-11, 2-8 CSAC). Kendra Stum and Jana Goodman also had seven points apiece as Cairn was 13-of-50 from the floor. Gwynedd was 26-of-61 and scored 25 points off of 20 Highlander turnovers.

Adams doled out five assists with Roseman handing out four. Marisa Sullivan was the top rebounder, pulling down a game-high nine.

Gwynedd Mercy resumes action on Sunday when they play at Penn at 1 p.m. in the historic Palestra as the Griffins square off with a Division I opponent for the first time in program history.
