RICHMOND, Ind. – Mariah Flynn's (Kodak, Tenn./Seymour) double-double and a solid shooting performance by the Quaker propelled Earlham College women's basketball to a 73-47 victory over visiting Manchester University, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference clash on Saturday afternoon at the Druley Performance Gym.

Flynn finished the day with 16 points and 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and the second of her career.

She was one of three Quakers to score in double figures, joining Zoe Curtis (New Castle, Ind./New Castle) with a game-high 19 points and six board. Amy Weisner (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) tacked on 11 points in the victory.

Earlham (5-12, 3-7 Heartland) shot .433 (29-of-67) from the field while holding Manchester (2-15, 0-10 Heartland) to a mere .271 clip from the floor.

Trailing by five at the end of the first quarter, a 10-0 Earlham run in the second quarter vaulted the Quakers into a lead they never relinquished. A Curtis layup triggered the run, while three-pointers by Flynn and Kayla Bowling (Osgood, Ind./Jac-Cen-Del) kept the momentum in Earlham's favor.

The Quakers went into the locker room at the break with a 29-22 advantage, and an 8-0 run in the third quarter helped Earlham extend its lead to 23 points, 52-29, at the end of the third.

Manchester also had three players finish in double digits, led by Nicole Weaver with 14 with six boards. Haley Farris added 11 points, while Faith-Alexis Graham chipped in 10 points.

Coupled with Wednesday's road victory over Defiance, the win over Manchester marked the first back-to-back victories for Earlham women's basketball since mid-January during the 2015-16 campaign, when the Quakers knocked off Defiance (69-56) and Mount St. Joseph (82-71).

Earlham is back on the road for its next contest on Wednesday, Jan, 24, when the Quakers travel to Bluffton University for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
