The Millikin women's basketball team scored an 82-73 win at Eureka College on November 27 in Eureka, Illinois.
Millikin led at the half 38-31, but Eureka rallied in the third quarter and the game at 55-55 after three periods.
The fourth quarter would be a tight one with the game tied at 71-71 with 4:21 left to play. Millikin would take the lead for good with 3:56 left on a basket by Lauren Moses. A three-pointer by Yanni Saddler with 1:46 remaining would push the Millikin advantage to 76-71. Devin Curry sealed the game going 6-6 from free throw line in the final 26 seconds.
Millikin shot 45.5 percent from the field while Eureka hit 44 percent. The Big Blue went 7-19 from three-point range (37 percent) while the Red Devils hit only 4-17.
Each team had 37 rebounds.
Curry led the way for Millikin with 24 points. Saddler added 21. Emily Schultz had 12 points and five assists. Freshman Jordan Hildebrand had a team high nine rebounds and eight points.
Hayley Reneau led Eureka with 18 points, five steals and three assists.
Millikin is now 3-1 while Eureka goes to 2-2.
The Big Blue open up conference play on December 2 with a trip to Wheaton College.
