Plattsburgh State finishes its season at 10-15 overall (6-12 SUNYAC). Oneonta rises to 15-10 overall (12-6 SUNYAC) with the win and earned the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. The Red Dragons will host fourth-seeded SUNY Cortland in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m.

Oneonta jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first seven points of the contest. Plattsburgh State clawed back and eventually drew within two points (11-9) late in the first quarter after a free throw by sophomore guard Anna Thompson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill), but junior guard Samantha Lisikatos hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in the stanza to hand the Red Dragons a 16-11 edge through 10 minutes of play.

Plattsburgh State went on an 8-2 run to start the second quarter, and Jones cashed in on a layup to give the Cardinals a 19-18 lead, their first of the game. Oneonta retaliated with a 14-3 surge, however, and never trailed the remainder of the contest. The Red Dragons entered halftime with a 32-22 lead.

The two teams traded points to start the second half before Plattsburgh State went on an 8-0 tear, and a pair of free throws by DePasquale cut the gap to one (37-36). Oneonta scored the final four points of the third quarter to give the home team a 41-36 edge heading into the final regulation period.

Though Plattsburgh State came as close as four points of Oneonta late in the fourth quarter, the Red Dragons closed the game on a modest 6-2 run to pull out the win.

Senior forward Sara DiPasquale led Oneonta with 16 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard Kathryn Polletta poured in 12 points.
