MADISON, N.J. (February 18, 2017) – Senior Alyssa McDonough recorded the second triple-double in program history to lead the FDU women's basketball to a 74-54 victory over King's Saturday.

Prior to the game, the women's basketball team honored McDonough and classmate Rachel Groom in a Senior Day Ceremony.

The Devils improve to 22-3 and finish 13-1 in the MAC Freedom. FDU claims the No. 1 seed in next week's MAC Freedom Tournament, and will host Eastern at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

McDonough, who has flirted with triple-doubles over the past few games, joined Kyra Dayon as the lone the Devils to hit the milestone. The senior ended with 15 points, 13 boards and 10 assists to go along with three steals.

King's grabbed a 9-8 edge midway through the opening frame, but the Devils closed out a on 10-0 run and didn't look back. The Devils surrendered the first four tallies of period two, but McDonough ended the run with a trey. As the Monarchs closed the gap to within five, freshman Kendrea Williams canned a three and drew foul. Williams converted from the stripe to send FDU into halftime with a nine-point edge.

The Monarchs hung tough, and four straight points at the end of third quarter brought the deficit to just points. But FDU countered with the final five markers, starting with a three-ball from freshman Jennah Roman. The Devils reeled off 10 straight in the fourth to extend the lead to 27, the final points a three from Williams assisted by McDonough. That assist was the one that gave the senior the triple-double.

Williams ended with 22 points, while Groom had 19 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Raven Dowling added seven points, five assists and three boards, as Roman chipped in seven off the bench.

Kayla Feariheller led King's with 18 points, with Alexis Steeber adding 13 off the bench.
