BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Hannah Rehbaum scored 17 points as one of three Brockport double-figure scorers as the Golden Eagles rallied in the second half to defeat visiting Cortland, 60-52, in a SUNYAC women's basketball contest.

Brockport improved to 9-15 overall and 8-9 in the league and clinched the sixth and final spot for next week's SUNYAC tournament. Cortland is now 12-12 overall and 11-6 in the league with one game remaining Saturday afternoon at nationally ranked and unbeaten Geneseo. The Red Dragons are tied for third with Oneonta in the league standings, a game behind New Paltz. Cortland would need a win at Geneseo, coupled with losses by both New Paltz (to Potsdam) and Oneonta (to Plattsburgh), to finish second. Otherwise, Cortland will likely finish either third or fourth and host a SUNYAC first-round playoff game (official seedings will be announced after Saturday's action).

Cortland led 31-28 at halftime, but was held to just 21 percent shooting overall in the second half. The Red Dragons missed all 11 of their second-half 3-point attempts and finished the game 3-for-22 (14 percent) from the arc. Brockport shot 38 percent for the game overall and 5-of-16 (31 percent) from 3-point distance.

Rehbaum made 6-of-9 shots from the field and also led the Golden Eagles with nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Lindsay Johnson scored 13 points, also on 6-of-9 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds, while Schyler Laux scored 12 points. Rehbaum and Laux each dished out three assists.

Cassidy Chapko (Valley Falls/Hoosic Valley) led Cortland with 19 points, 16 in the first half. Stephanie Rice (Duanesburg) scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting and Alyssa Crosby (Brier Hill/Hammond) finished with eight points, nine rebounds and three assists. Danielle Levine (Holbrook/Sachem North) also finished with nine rebounds and led the team with three steals.

The Red Dragons led 35-32 with 7:09 left in the third quarter after two Rice free throws, but Brockport went on an 11-0 run over the next five minutes. Faith Welch scored the last six points in that stretch as the Golden Eagles went up 43-35. Cortland got as close as five twice in the final quarter but was never able to draw within one possession.
