Brandeis Pulls Away From Endicott, 64-46

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team returned from the holiday break and fell to Brandeis University, 64-46, Friday afternoon inside MacDonald Gymnasium in non-conference action.

With the loss, the Gulls close out the 2016 calendar at 3-7 overall, while Brandeis moves to 7-3 on the season.

Endicott battled the Judges to a 30-27 deficit at the half, but Brandeis used a 19-9 third quarter to pull away and built a lead as large as 19 with 20 seconds remaining in the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Junior forward Hannah Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine) led the Gulls with 13 points for her ninth game this season scoring in double digits.
  • Senior forward Sarah Hood (Burlington, Mass.) grabbed eight rebounds to go with four points and two assists.
  • Freshman guard Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) pulled down a career-high six rebounds to match junior guard Hannah Kiernan (Wenham, Mass.).
  • Freshman guard Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) tied her career high with six points.
  • The Gulls lost their fourth straight game.

FOR THE FOES

  • Senior guard Paris Hodges (Southampton, N.Y.) and senior forward Maria Jackson (Rochester, N.Y.)  teamed up to each net 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds apiece to pace the Judges.
  • Senior forward Sydney Sodine (New York, N.Y.) added 11 points and pulled down eight boards to round out the Judges in double figures.
  • Brandeis out-rebounded the hosts, 47-36.
  • The Judges are 4-0 against Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponents this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Gulls (3-7, 2-1 CCC) are off until they open 2017 by welcoming Wentworth Institute of Technology to Beverly, Mass. on Tuesday, January 3 at 5:30 p.m.

Brandeis (7-3, 0-0 UAA) is off until the Judges ring in 2017 with a home date against UMass Boston on Tuesday, January 3 at 6:00 p.m.
