Trinity Women's Basketball Stifles St. Joseph In Road Win

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore guard Aubree Udell (Chester, N.J.) poured in a career-high 15 points with five assists and classmate Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.) had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 63-48 victory over the city rival University of St. Joseph Bluejays in women's basketball action this afternoon at the O'Connell Center.  Trinity improves to 2-1 with its second win in a row, while the Bluejays drop to 2-2.

Trinity dominated from the opening tip, taking leads of 15-1 and 21-5 on their way to a 24-8 advantage after one quarter.  Udell scored seven of her 15 in the first stanza.  The second quarter was more of the same, as the Bantams led, 36-16, at the break by holding the Bluejays to just two field goals in 26 tries and outrebounding them, 26-19.

Erickson scored nine of her 14 points in the second half, while Carlee Putnam had 12 of her game-high 18 points after halftime for St. Joseph.  Trinity sophomore forward Erin Cunningham (Wilton, Conn.) added eight points and eight rebounds and senior co-captain guard Kaitlin Lewis (Demarest, N.J.) also pulled down eight boards for the visitors.
