Dawson's Career Night Leads Thunder Past Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind.—The Trine women's basketball team picked up a 77-52 commanding win over Anderson on the road Saturday afternoon.

Brandi Dawson (Garrett, Ind./Garrett) led the Thunder with a career high 28 points. The sophomore went 12 for 13 for a 92.3 field goal percentage, which was the second best in a game in school history. Dawson scored 13-straight points for Trine in the first quarter.

Hayley Martin (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) put the Thunder on the board first with a three-pointer, and Trine held the lead for the rest of the game. The Thunder held a 22-11 advantage after the first quarter and was up by 20 points after the first half. The Thunder sailed though the third and fourth quarters on its way to victory.

Trine improved to 3-1, while Anderson fell to 2-3.

Martin totaled 18 points with five rebounds. Shaely Duff (Greenfield, Ind./Mount Vernon) and Katy Steers (Portage, Ind./Portage) also added five rebounds each. Cassidy Williams (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) added a team high four assists.

Anderson was led by Olivia Love with 16 points off the bench and notched seven rebounds. Alyssa Zook totaled 10 points, while Tatum Minier had eight.

The Thunder returns home on Wednesday, Nov. 30 when it will welcome Heidelberg to Hershey Hall.
