ALLENTOWN, Pa. – McDaniel College out-scored Gettysburg College 44-26 in the second half to pull away for a 79-62 victory in the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Championship semifinals Friday night inside Memorial Hall on the campus of Muhlenberg College. 

McDaniel (21-5), which advances to face top seed Muhlenberg College (23-2) in Saturday's championship game, jumped out of the gate with the first eight points. A three-pointer by sophomore Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) stopped the run, but the Green Terror continued to maintain the upper-hand throughout the first quarter and led 23-14 at the end of the frame. 

Gettysburg (19-6) roared back in the second quarter. Sophomore Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) accounted for every point in an 8-2 run which pulled the Bullets within a point at 28-27 with 4:31 left in the first half. 

McDaniel padded its lead with five-straight points, but Gettysburg ended the first half with a flourish. A three-pointer by senior Kim Ryan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) kicked off a 9-2 run that ended with a lay-up by classmate Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) that gave Gettysburg the lead 36-35 going into the break. 

The Bullets held the lead for the first five minutes of the third quarter, but Lindsey Nichols and Karli Zeps eventually pushed McDaniel back in front. The pair combined for 15 of the team's 17 third-quarter points as the Green Terror took a 52-46 lead. 

Trailing by 10 early in the fourth quarter, Gettysburg received a boost with back-to-back three-pointers by Dorshimer and Porter to cut the lead to four (56-52) with 6:34 remaining. Zeps answered with a jumper and following a turnover by the Bullets, Nichols knocked home a three-pointer to lift the lead back to nine (61-52). 

Gettysburg cut the lead to seven twice over the next two minutes, but another trey by Nichols gave McDaniel a double-figure lead for good with 3:33 to play. 

The Green Terror defense forced the Bullets into a season-high 26 turnovers. McDaniel made the most of those opportunities by posting 27 points off turnovers. Gettysburg won the rebounding battle 45-25, but the Green Terror went to the free throw line 17 more times, finishing 17-of-19 at the charity stripe. 

Porter turned in a strong game in her final appearance on the court, finishing 10-of-15 from the field for 21 points. She added 10 rebounds for her 18th career double. Porter finished her career tied for eighth in program history with 1,185 points. She also finished top-10 at Gettysburg in blocked shots (3rd, 126), field goals attempted (5th, 1,160), blocked shots per game (5th, 1.3), field goals made (6th, 482), points per game (8th, 12.1), and games started (10th, 84). 

Dorshimer tallied 16 points and her two three-pointers gave her 55 this season, tied for second in a single season at Gettysburg. Gibbons turned in 16 points and seven rebounds, while senior Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Ryan finished with nine points. 

Nichols and Zeps combined for 50 points, including 32 in the second half. Nichols added six rebounds and a tournament record 10 steals, while Brittney Davis tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.
