TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology extended its school record winning streak to 16 games and remained in a first place tie in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball standings at 15-2 in league play with a 59-36 win at Hulbert Arena over Anderson University Wednesday evening.

Rose-Hulman earned its 21st win on the season and improved to 21-3 with the win.  Earlier Wednesday, the Fightin' Engineers were ranked No. 7 in the NCAA DIII regional rankings, and received three votes in the d3hoops.com national poll.

The 21st win also marks just the second time in Rose-Hulman history that a women's basketball team has reached the plateau.  The 2006-07 team finished the season 21-5 for a single-season school record for victories.

Junior Josie Schmidt led a balanced Rose-Hulman scoring attack with 14 points and three blocks in the win.  Freshman Brianna Gliesmann added 12 points on 4-5 from behind the three-point arc.
Other key contributors to the balanced attack included freshmen Ally Bromenschenkel with nine points and seven rebounds and Abby Bromenschenkel with five points.

Defensively, Rose-Hulman held Anderson to just 18 points each half and 27% from the field.  The Engineers also outrebounded the Ravens 36-32 in the win.

Rose-Hulman also won its 16th consecutive game and its 14th straight conference contest.  The Fightin' Engineers shot 44% from the field in the victory.

The Fightin' Engineers return home for their final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. They play Defiance College on Senior Day at Hulbert Arena with tip-off set for 1 p.m.
