The North Central College women's basketball team cruised past Millikin University, 104-65 on Wednesday behind 23 three-point field goals to get back to .500 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play.
 
Beginning the second half of the CCIW schedule, North Central (10-9, 4-4 CCIW) held a double-digit lead for 32+ minutes, including a 15-point lead after the first quarter.  Seven Cardinals hit from beyond the arch in the first quarter, as Miranda Grizaffi and Mayson Whipple hit from deep on consecutive possessions to give North Central its first double-digit lead, 21-10 with 2:52 to play in the quarter.
 
The Cardinals only attempted three field goals inside the three-point arch in the opening frame and were unsuccessful on all three attempts, finishing 9-of-26 from the field and 9-of-23 from three-point range to take a 28-13 lead after the opening 10 minutes.
 
The offensive onslaught continued in the second quarter for the Cardinals, as a Selena Juarez lay-up opened up the largest lead of the half, a 48-28 advantage right before halftime.
 
The Big Blue (7-12, 0-8 CCIW) had no answer for the Cardinal offense, as North Central finished 23-of-61 from beyond the arch, while Millikin shot just 1-for-10 from long range.
 
Jamie Cuny turned in her third double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds to go along with a game-high three blocks.  Anita Sterling led the Cardinal offense with 14 points off the bench, while adding eight rebounds, three steals and three assists.
 
Michaela Reedy chipped in 12 points, while Grizaffi added 11 and Whipple finished with 10 and a game-high seven assists.
 
Millikin's Alyssa Saklak was the lone Big Blue to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points, while Emma Hoyer grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds before fouling out late.
