Gophers Bow for Second Time to Greyhounds

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Similar to the match up on Dec. 2, Goucher struggled defensively and fell to Moravian tonight, for a second time, 72-48.

The Greyhounds (13-2, 6-0 Landmark) jumped out to a commanding 19-7 lead after the opening 10 minutes of the contest. Hannah Kuehl and Briana Bull were the lone Gophers to score in the first quarter. Kuehl hit a layup and a jumper while Bull notched a layup and a free throw.

Olivia Nono, India Perkins and Amaka Ezeani each contributed four points for the blue and gold in the second quarter. 10 of Goucher's 14 points were in the paint.

The Gophers (5-10, 0-6 Landmark) trailed by 21 at the half.

Moravian scored 26 points in the third quarter, resulting in a 68-34 advantage heading into the fourth.

Patrick Daniel's squad outscored the Greyhounds, 14-4, in the final 10 minutes of play. During this stretch, Bull scored three of her 11 points while Perkins tallied four of her 10 on the night.

Camille McPherson led all scoring with 16 points. She was one of 11 Moravian players to make a basket in the win.

Goucher travels to Elizabethtown on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip-off against the Blue Jays.
