KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 64-58 victory over Loras College at Tarble Arena Wednesday night.

The Lady Reds built an 18-point halftime lead behind 18 points from Morgan Harris in the first half, as well as 11 from Erin Thomas.  The Lady Reds doubled up the Duhawks in the first half, taking a 36-18 lead into the break.

Harris, for the second game in a row, set a new career high with 30 points Wednesday following her 24-point performance this past Saturday against Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Harris finished the night shooting 10-15 from the field, 3-5 from three-point land and a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line.

Thomas finished with her second double-digit scoreing output of the season with 16 points on 6-of-16 shooting which included 4-of-8 from three point territory.

Carthage took advantage of Loras' poor shooting in the first half as the Duhawks shot 14.7 percent from the field in the first half to the Lady Reds 42.9 percent.

Loras managed to whittle the lead down to four points in the fourth quarter on three separate occasions during the fourth quarter.  However, Harris and Bailey Gilbert combined to go four-for-four on free throws down the stretch in the final minute of the game to secure the third straight win for the Lady Reds to open the season.

Carthage returns to the road next, heading to the University of Chicago Sunday, November 29th for a matchup with the Maroons at 2:00 p.m. at the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center.
