FROSTBURG, Md. – Senior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) posted a career-high 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds on the way to Most Valuable Player accolades as Gettysburg College recorded an 83-53 win over host Frostburg State University in the championship game of the Jim Crawley Tip-off Tournament.

Gettysburg (2-0) won Frostburg's (1-1) season-opening tournament for the third consecutive season. Porter was named MVP for the second-straight year after posting 37 points and 20 rebounds in two games. Senior Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) was also named to the All-Tournament Team after posting a career-high tying 15 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and four blocked shots.

After beating No. 20 Geneseo State on a three-pointer by Porter in the final seconds on Friday night, the Bullets had little issue getting by the Bobcats. With her team trailing 9-6, Porter posted the next six points to grab the lead for good. The visitors ended the first quarter with an 18-11 advantage.

Gettysburg's advantage reached double-figures at 25-13 on a three-pointer by senior Kim Ryan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) at 6:16 in the second quarter. The team led 36-25 at the break.

The lead briefly dipped to eight points at the start of the second half, but Frostburg was unable to keep pace with Gettysburg's hot offense. The Bullets put up 47 points and shot a blistering 64.5 percent from the floor in the second half. Gettysburg turned in the game's final nine points to close out the win.

The Orange and Blue produced the program's best shooting performance in over four years. The team finished 37-of-70 for 52.9 percent. That's the team's best rate since canning 54.8 percent of its attempts against Bryn Mawr College on Jan. 11, 2011.

Gettysburg also out-rebounded Frostburg 56-26 and scored 23 second-chance points. Additionally, the squad dished out 29 assists, which tied for the second-best total in program history.

Porter went 14-of-20 from the floor in topping her previous personal best by one point. Duggan finished 7-of-10 from the field and set a personal mark for assists. Sophomore Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) and Ryan narrowly missed double-doubles. Gibbons posted 10 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while Ryan produced nine points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Ryan's assist total was the best by a Bullet since Cori Younghans '14 dished out 10 against Bryn Mawr on Dec. 1, 2012.

Gettysburg makes its home and Centennial Conference debut on Tuesday against Johns Hopkins University at 8 p.m.
