Corrigan, Mossellem Voted to AMCC All-Conference Team

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Two Penn State Altoona women's basketball players earned spots on the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference squad for the first time in their careers when the league's postseason awards were released on Tuesday.

Senior forward Moira Corrigan (Havertown, PA/Haverford) was voted to the first team of the All-AMCC team, and sophomore guard/forward Madison Mossellem (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) was picked to the third team.

Corrigan had a career year for the Lady Lions in her fourth season with the program. The senior played in all 27 games for her team, making 25 starts. In the AMCC, she ranked first in rebounds per game (14.0), total rebounds (377), offensive rebounds (139), and defensive rebounds (238). Her total of 53 shot blocks was the second-most in the conference, and her average of 16.7 points per game was the third-highest. Corrigan was also sixth in field goal percentage, making 45.6% of her shots from the field. She ranked second among all NCAA Division III women's basketball players in double-doubles with 23, and she was seventh nationally in rebounds per game. Corrigan was also a three-time AMCC Player of the Week selection.

Corrigan set several Penn State Altoona women's basketball program single season records during her 2014-2015 campaign, including points scored (452), field goals made (161), total rebounds, rebounds per game, blocked shots, and blocked shots per game (2.0).

The senior also worked her way to the top of several all-time Lady Lion records over the course of her collegiate basketball career, ranking first in program history in rebounding (950 rebounds, 10.1 rebounds per game) and blocks (137 blocked shots, 1.5 blocks per game). Corrigan also holds the program records for most points scored in a game (31 points on February 24, 2015 against Medaille College), most rebounds in a game (19 rebounds on November 22, 2014 against Wesley College), and most blocks in a game (six blocks on January 18, 2014 against D'Youville College).

Mossellem started all 27 games for Penn State Altoona this season and ranked in the top tier of several statistical categories in the AMCC. She led the conference in assists (132) and assists per game (4.9), was second in minutes per game (37.4), steals (76), and steals per game (2.8), was ninth in defensive rebounds (136), finished 13th in total rebounds (176) and total points scored (343), and ranked 16th in points per game (12.7) and rebounds per game (6.5).

Mossellem also set a trio of single season records for the women's basketball program in 2014-2015: steals, minutes per game, and total minutes played (1,010). Additionally, her 13 assists in the Lady Lions' final home contest of the season against Medaille on February 24 set a team record for most assists in a game, and her 14 free throws made at Franciscan University on January 14 are tied for the most foul shots made in a game by a Lady Lion.

Penn State Altoona women's basketball finished with an 11-16 overall record, including a 9-9 mark in the AMCC. The Lady Lions made their deepest push into the conference's postseason tournament since the 2009-2010 season, advancing to the semifinal round.
