Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team fell to conference rival Baruch on Tuesday evening, 60-46, in what was the team's senior night, as the final home contest of the regular season. Brooklyn falls to 18-6, 14-2 CUNYAC on the season, and will be the #2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, while Baruch improves to 20-4, 16-0, and will enter the tournament as the #1 seed.

Brooklyn will host a quarterfinal matchup with York on Saturday at 1 pm. The Cardinals are the #7 seed. The Bulldogs won both matchups during the regular season.

The Bulldogs were passive early, allowing the visitors to get out to a 14-3 lead, however, BC came back with five straight points to cut the deficit to six, 14-8, after a Megan Campbell three.

Baruch was able to extend the lead to 15, 27-12, after a Sheridan Taylor bucket capped a 13-4 run.

The Bulldogs came right back with a run of their own, a 12-2 run that cut the Bearcat advantage to five, 29-24, with 1:12 to play in the half. After a Baruch bucket, Campbell made one of two from the line and the Bulldogs went into the locker room down six, 31-25.

After a Taylor bucket to start the half, Brooklyn went on 7-2 run, capped by an Asia Foster basket, cutting the advantage to three, 35-32.  Baruch would answer with four straight, and then the Bulldogs responded with a 4-0 run of their own, bringing the deficit back to three.

For the next six minutes, Brooklyn would get no closer than five points, but trail by no more than seven, as the teams traded hoops, however, with 5:56 remaining, two Iyana Abrams free throws gave Baruch a nine point lead. On a consequent trip to the line, Abrams hit one of two to put the visitors up 10.

Brooklyn's Nacirema Mann was able to convert on a bucket and was fouled with 3:09 remaining.  With the deficit at eight, Mann could not convert the free throw, and although Vanessa D'Ambrosi collected the offensive board, she couldn't convert on the put back.

Baruch's Francess Henry would score the game's next basket, a three-pointer from the right wing that served as the dagger for the Bulldogs who fell for only the sixth time all season.

Megan Campbell led the way for BC with 14 points.

Seniors Nicole Francomano, Sarah Shanderson, Jaclyn Grasso, Nacirema Mann, Megan Campbell, Asia Foster and Vanessa D'Ambrosi were all honored prior to tip-off.

Francomano and Mann each scored their career 1,000th point during the contest. Francomano became just the fifth player in BC history to score 1,000 points in her BC career. Mann's 1,000 points was combined from Onandaga CC & Brooklyn.

"We really wanted to send our seniors off in a special way," said Head Coach Alex Lang.  "Although we couldn't get the win tonight, we were definitely proud to see Nicole and Rema get their 1,000th, and we look forward to competing in the upcoming CUNYAC Touranment."
