Cabrini collects 12th straight win, tops Cairn 102-32

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team extended its win streak to 12 games tonight, as the Cavaliers topped Cairn University 102-32.  The victory improves the Blue and White to 18-3 on the season and 12-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

The Cavaliers displayed a complete team effort in tonight's win, as all 13 players in uniform notched the scoring column, while 12 grabbed a rebound, 11 recorded an assist and 10 at least one steal.

Senior Amber Keys led the Cavaliers with 17 points on 8-9 shooting, to go with four rebounds and three steals in just 12 minutes of action.  Fellow senior Megan Decker added 13 points, a blocked shot and four steals in nine minutes on the floor.

Sophomore Meghan Horn scored a career high 15 points and matched a season high with six boards, while classmate Renee Oliver tallied 12 points and six rebounds.

Cabrini ran away from the Highlanders in the game's opening minutes, as it built a 17-0 lead in the game's first five minutes.

The Cavaliers shot just south of 49% from the field in the first half as they took a 48-16 lead at the half.  The Blue and White held Cairn to just 6-21 shooting and forced 16 first half turnovers.

Cabrini turned up the offense and defense in the second half, as it connected on over 57% of its second half field goals.   On the other side of the floor, the Highlanders made just four of its 22 field goal attempts and committed 17 turnovers that led to 24 Blue and White points.

Freshman Kate Skalski added eight points and four assists.  Junior Kristina Startare tallied six points, three rebounds and three assists, while sophomore Tayler Holmes matched Startare with six points and recorded four assists and four steals.

Amie Eppolito led Cairn (2-14, 0-10 CSAC) with 24 points, including 14 of the Highlanders' 16 first half points.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, as it hits the road to face Cedar Crest College (3-15, 2-8 CSAC).  Game time is slated for 1 p.m. in Allentown, Pa.
