Gettysburg Races Past Bryn Mawr

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The reserves poured in 57 points to lift the Gettysburg College women's basketball team to a 90-23 victory over Bryn Mawr College Saturday afternoon inside Bream Gym. 

Gettysburg's (13-5) point total was its highest since putting up the same amount against Haverford College on Jan. 13, 2005. Four Bullets hit double-figures with junior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) turning in 16 points and eight rebounds in only 18 minutes. Freshman Britt Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) posted her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while junior Kim Ryan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and sophomore Olivia Braswell (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) each hit career highs with 12 and 14 points, respectively. 

Gettysburg dominated the boards in the opening half, pulling down 36 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive end. Porter poured in 14 points and the Bullets used a 13-0 run to end the first half with a 41-12 advantage. 

The reserves hit their stride midway through the second period as Gettysburg finished the game on a 32-4 run. Keyes canned three of her four three-pointers in the final stanza, while Braswell finished 6-of-6 from the floor in the frame. 

Gettysburg finished 38-of-74 (51.4 percent) from the field, including 9-of-18 from beyond the arc. The Bullets posted 57 rebounds and dished out 23 assists against just 10 turnovers. 

Freshman Annie Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) tallied eight points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots, and three steals for the Bullets. Freshman Rachel Kirby (Lakeville, Conn./Hotchkiss School) added a career-high eight points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Gettysburg hosts Dickinson College (4-15, 2-12 CC) on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m.
