Berry surpasses century mark again in win

ROME, Ga. – Thirteen players had points as Berry College cruised to a 106-52 win over visiting Toccoa Falls College on Friday night. The Vikings moved to 2-0 and the Eagles dropped to 3-6. Berry started out with a 16-4 lead and never looked back. BC held a 62-25 edge at halftime. For the game, BC shot 55-percent (39-71) to Toccoa's 37-percent (24-65). The Vikings won the battle of the boards, 49-31. Mel McLean led BC with 21 points. She played 17 minutes and made five 3-pointers and was 7-10 shooting in the contest. Valerie McLure and Chanlir Segarra both contributed 13 points for the home team. Emma Cook (10 points) was the fourth Berry player in double figures. Alana Jones and Mallorie Collum both collected 14 points for the Eagles. BC converted 19-27 free throws and Toccoa was 4-10 from the charity stripe. The Vikings committed just six turnovers and forced 16 Eagle miscues. Berry plays at Emory on Saturday at 2 p.m.
