More news about: UW-Whitewater

The Warhawks knocked down their first six shots from the field to jump out to a quick 16-4 lead with 15:29 on the clock. Abbie Reeves bolstered the run with eight points including six from behind the arc. From that point, the Warhawks' hot hands went cold and UW-Whitewater made just 4-20 the rest of the half.

UW-Whitewater's defense held the Pointers to just three field goals in the first 15:47 of the game but UW-SP went 15 of 18 from the charity stripe in the first half to take a seven point lead, 32-25, at the half.

The Warhawks shot 38.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from long range in the first 20 minutes. The Pointers shot 38.1 percent from the floor and just 25 percent from behind the arc in the first half.

UW-SP pushed the lead back into double figures from the free throw line but Reilly Stewart responded with a three-pointer to bring the Warhawks within nine, 46-37 with just under 13 minutes left in the game.

The Pointers added two more from the charity stripe but the Warhawks responded with a free throw of their own from Dani Fugate.
