(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The second-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team rallied to from a 12-point second half deficit to defeat Saint Vincent College, 75-58, today (Saturday, January 17, 2015) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 15-0 overall and 8-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in the PAC.

The game started with six ties with the last one at 18-18 with 8:33 to play in the first half and then Saint Vincent closed out the half on a 19-9 run to take a 37-27 lead at halftime when Ally Schmidt made a lay-up with 26-seconds to play in the half.

Saint Vincent opened the second half with a Taylor Mathers lay-up to extend the lead to 39-27 with 19:25 to play in the game.  The Saints answered with a 13-0 run to take a 40-39 lead with 14:22 to play in the game when junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) made a lay-up.  The Bearcats responded with a 4-0 run to retake the lead at 43-40 on a Drew Meeker lay-up with 13:12 to play in the game.  Undaunted, Thomas More closed out the game on a 35-15 run capped by a lay-up by freshman guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky.,/Simon Kenton) with 14-seconds to play in the game for the 75-58 final score.

Owings led all scorers with 18 points, while she was joined in double-figure scoring by Moss with 15 points, freshman forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 14 points and senior guard Sydni Wainscott (Erlanger, Ky./Simon Kenton) with 10 points.  Kiernan led the Saints on the boards with seven rebounds, while Wainscott led the team in assists with six and Owings led the team in steals with four.

Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (January 21) when it travels to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to play Chatham University.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Athletic & Fitness Center.
