WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LED BY KIWELEWA MLIMWENGU AGAINST BARUCH

Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Basketball team fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 96-27 earlier today. The Bearcats improve to 6-4 overall and 4-0 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop 1-11 overall and 0-4 CUNYAC. 

Baruch led wire to wire. The Cougars looked rusty since this was their 1st game back from the long winter break. They shot Cougars 24% from the field, 20% from 3pt. range, and 20% from the free throw line.
Sophomore Forward Kiwelewa Mlimwengu led the Cougars with 10pts (5-14 FG-FGA and 0-2 FT-FTA). Kiwelewa grabbed a game high nine rebounds, dished out an assist, and added two steals. Junior Guard Nia Tompkins scored six points (2-8 3pt. FG-FGA), She led the team in assists with three. Baruch was led by Veronica Ganzi with a game high 21pts. Five other Bearcats scored in double figures including the following: Kristen Podlovits (14pts), Ashika Kuruvilla (14pts), Alicea Ulmer (12pts), Frances Henry (11pts), and Vanessa Santana (10pts).

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday January 6, 2015 when they travel to Manhattan, NY, and battle the Hunter College Hawks. Tip off will be 5:00pm.
