SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Western New England University junior guard/forward Chelsea Vujs (Berlin, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Basketball co-Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. This marks the first time that Vujs has received the conference's top weekly honor.

The psychology major averaged 12.5 points, an eye-popping 18.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Golden Bears. In a 59-48 setback against Curry on Wednesday, Vujs scored nine points, pulled down 10 rebounds and collected three steals. In a 66-55 win over the 2014 CCC runner-up Roger Williams, she posted game highs of 16 points, seven assists (also a career high) and 26 rebounds--two shy of a school record. The 26 rebounds are just one off the season high for any NCAA Division III player this season and one of three performances of 25 or more rebounds in the nation. She went 50 percent (9-of-18) from the field, shot 43 percent (3-of-7) from three-point range and a perfect 100 percent (4-of-4) from the charity stripe.

In addition, Vujs placed on the Honor Roll of the Keene, H.H.-based New England Women's Basketball Association weekly awards. She was one of only seven student-athletes from the region recognized this week.

In the last three contests, she has grabbed rebounds of 19, 10 and 26 to overtake the CCC lead with an 11.8 average. She also scores 11.9 points per outing.
