GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - The Ospreys of Richard Stockton College handed the Griffins a 58-49 defeat on their home court Monday night. The loss leaves the griffins at 3-4 overall and 2-3 at home.

Getting off to a slow start, both teams were tied at 2-2 for the first three minutes of play. A string of turnovers early on helped the Ospreys jump ahead as they went on a 19-2 run. Three consecutive blocks by Sasha Williams and two consecutive three-pointers by Taylor Christina would give Stockton the lead by 17 which would be the largest of the half.

Junior Chandler DiFebbo would break the Griffin drought with a layup at 8:40, as the Griffins went on a 10-point swing capped by a corner three by freshman Julianna Hoisington. The run would pull the Griffins within seven, down 19-12 with 7:00 minutes left on the clock.

The Ospreys (5-2) would keep the Griffins at bay, going into the break leading 26-14. In the half, the Griffins went 5-36 (13.9%) and just 2-10 (20%) from behind the arc. The Ospreys had a clear advantage on the glass with 30 rebounds (23 defensive) compared to the Griffins 22 (12 defensive).

Sophomore Charlotte Kucowski came up big for the Griffins early on in the second half with a five-point swing of her own with 16:49 to go. Her three-pointer would make her the clear leader for the Griffins with 12 points and seven rebounds. But the Griffins could not hold of the Ospreys offensive push as they went on an eight-point spurt with 11:23 to go in the half.

The Griffins (3-4) would play catchup for the remainder of the half getting as close at 53-46 with 55.7 seconds left on the clock. Lauren Alwan (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Sara Farrell (14 points, 10 rebounds) would both record double-doubles for Stockton. Sasha Williams recorded 11 points,nine blocks and six rebounds.

Kucowski and juniorOlivia Bradford led the way in the scoring column with 12 points apiece for the Griffins. Hoisington was not far behind with a season-high 11. Bradford also made a career-best five steals in the loss.

The Griffins shot 18-70 (25.7%) from the field and 6-18 (33.3%) overall.

GM is back at it on December 15, as they take on Catholic University in front of a home crowd. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
