Baruch Runs Past Farmingdale St. (86-64), Play #2 Amherst in Final

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Rams of Farmingdale State College, 86-64, in an opening round game of the Amherst Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday night in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Bearcats will next play #2-ranked Amherst College on Sunday afternoon in the championship game scheduled for 4:00 pm. Amherst defeated Mount Holyoke, 97-41.

The game against Amherst will be the start of an interesting 72 hours for the Bearcats. After playing #2-ranked Amherst, the Bearcats come home to play #1-ranked FDU-Florham on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats shot 50 percent (36-for-72), scored 46 points in the paint, and totaled 19 second chance points for the convincing victory against Farmingdale State from the Skyline Conference.

They never trailed the entire game and used solid defense to limit the Rams to 30 percent shooting (23-for-77).


Sheridan Taylorled the team with 18 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Iyana Abramshad 17 points, five rebounds and four steals. Francess Henrywas busy with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists to round out the double-figure scorers. Alicea Ulmerfinished with 12 rebounds.
