Union, N.J. (11/20/14) – Top ranked FDU-Florham pushed their winning streak to 36 games as they defeated the Kean University women's basketball team by the final of 97-61 Thursday evening in non-conference action.

After trading baskets in the first minute the Devils took the lead for good as senior Kyra Dayon hit a jumper for a quick 4-2 lead.  FDU pushed that lead out to double-digits as Delisha Thompson's jump shot put the advantage at 22-12.  The Devils (3-0) then paced the remainder of the period, hitting over 50% of their shots on their way to a 46-30 halftime lead.

Coming off the bench, Thompson led all players with 13 first-half points while Kean's Najha Treadwell already recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

The second half proved to be much like the first as FDU-Florham stretched their lead to as many as 39 in the final seconds.  Both teams used a majority, if not all, of their bench in the contest.

The Cougars (2-1) bright spot fell in the rebound category as Kean held the advantage, 55-37, with Treadwell accounting for 18 in total.  She finished with 21 points in 27 minutes of action.  The Devils shot 49% in the game as six players finished in double figures.  Thompson and Alyssa McDonough were tied with team-highs of 19 points apiece while Shalette Brown registered a team-high 10 rebounds.  Kean's AnnaRose Pierre finished in double figures with 10 points while adding seven rebounds.

Kean opens up New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday when they hit the road for their first away contest of the year at New Jersey City University.
