Feb. 19 – BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's basketball team suffered a 108-59 defeat to Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Thomas More College on Wednesday evening.

The visitors came out strong early, controlling both ends of the court en route to a 58-24 halftime advantage.

The second half saw the Bison bench come to play, as they scored 15 of the teams 35 points, including five from Kristen Black (Follansbee, W.Va./Brooke) and four from both R.E.L. Neal (Detroit, Mich./Melvindale) and Caroleana Gasbarro (Hickory, Pa./Fort Cherry).  The Saints, however, would go on to grab the PAC victory.

Offensively the Bison were led by Taylor Verrico (Monaca, Pa./Quigley), Sami Schott (Caldwell, Ohio/Shenandoah) and Lauren Simpson (Washington, Pa./Trinity). Verrico notched her 18th game in double figures, scoring a team-high 18 points, while Schott chipped in 10 points and five rebounds. Simpson, who made her first-career start, tallied 10 points and two boards.

The squad will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 22 in their final game of the regular season, as they take on Washington & Jefferson. The game also marks the final home contest for seniors Skylar Williams (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and Verrico, who will be recognized before the start of the game. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m.
