Pacers Rally Past Giants, 78-62

La Plume, PA – Marywood University overcame a 14-point first half deficit and used a 20-2 second half run in the second stanza to pull away with a crucial, 78-62 victory in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Monday evening.  The Pacers improve to 15-9 on the season and lock up a playoff berth with their 10-5 record in conference play while the Giants slip to 14-10 overall and 8-7 in the CSAC.  
 
Trailing by a point just over three minutes into the game, Keystone used a 14-4 run to build a 20-14 advantage with 11:18 remaining.  The Giants continued to stretch their lead with a 10-2 burst that saw them stake out a 14-point lead with 7:52 left in the opening period after Ashley Evans (Wooster, OH/Wooster) connected on a jumper to cap the run.  With the hosts ahead 34-20 with 6:06 showing on the first half clock, Marywood outscored Keystone 13-2 the rest of the way to narrow the Giants' advantage to 36-33 heading into halftime. 
 
Evans led the Keystone with 10 points and five rebounds in the first half as the Giants held a 29-18 advantage in rebounds for the period.  Jazmyn Robinson (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) added seven points and five rebounds for the hosts, who shot 38.9 percent from the field in the half while going 2-11 from beyond the arc and 6-9 from the free throw line.
 
Brittany Mang paced Marywood with 13 points while Danielle Terranella netted 10 points in the opening 20 minutes of play.  Alexa Gerchman corralled five rebounds and dished out three assists for the Pacers, who connected on 42.4 percent of their shots from the floor while going 0-3 from beyond the arc and 5-9 from the charity stripe in the period.
 
With Keystone leading 45-42 with 15:27 left in regulation, Marywood went on a decisive, 20-2 run to claim a 62-47 advantage with 8:39 remaining.  The Giants battled back to within eight points, 65-57, with 3:32 remaining when AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) scored on a layup, but the hosts were unable to come any closer as the Pacers pulled away with the
 
Terranella finished with a game-high 26 points for Marywood on 11-16 shooting while Mang added 17 points and seven steals.  Nora Joyce was the third Pacers player in double-figures with 10 points while Gerchman contributed nine rebounds and five assists for the Pacers, who finished the contest shooting 45 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from three-point land, and 75 percent from the line.
 
Hayes scored 16 points to lead Keystone's offense while grabbing eight rebounds.  Alyssa Cuomo (Odessa, DE/Hodgson Vo-tech) netted 12 points while Evans finished with 10 points in the loss.  Robinson tied for a game-high with nine boards while leading all players with six helpers and collecting a team-best three steals for the Giants, who ended the night hitting on 33.8 percent of their shots from the field while going just 3-20 from beyond the arc and 13-19 from the stripe.
 
Keystone will close out the  season on Wednesday evening when they visit conference-leading Cabrini College for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.  The Giants handed the Cavaliers their only loss in league play so far this season, winning 64-55 on January 18th in La Plume.
