Cavaliers Show No Rust in 83-43 Win over Cedar Crest

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the club scored an 83-43 victory over the visiting Cedar Crest Falcons.  The victory improved the Cavaliers to 17-4 overall and 11-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Three players scored in double figures, led by senior Annie Rivituso who recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds to go with career highs of six assists and four steals.  Freshman Meghan Horn added a career high 11 points in just 13 minutes, while junior Megan Decker tallied 10 points.

The Cavaliers showed no signs of rust after nine days off, as they built a 12-0 lead just 3:16 into the game.  The Blue and White shot 52.5% from the floor in the first half to earn a 45-18 lead at the break.  Cabrini forced 18 first half turnovers and converted them into 30 points.

Cabrini continued its solid play after the halftime break as it connected on 16-34 second half field goal attempts.  Ten different Cavaliers notched the scoring column after the break as Cabrini outscored the Falcons 38-25.

Seniors Brittany Sandone and Colleen Stewart added eight points each, while freshman Tayler Holmes chipped in with six points.

Senior Amber Wehry led the Falcons (6-14, 4-7 CSAC) with 19 points, while junior Breonna Lewis grabbed 16 boards.

The victory sets up Wednesday's big game at Immaculata (16-5, 11-1 CSAC).  With just four games left in the season, both teams are currently tied atop the conference standings.  Tip is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
