Second-chance points ruined a good shooting effort by the Lions, as the Albright College women's basketball team lost 85-71 at Lebanon Valley on Saturday.

The Lions lost by double-digits despite shooting 58.1% (25-of-43) from the floor, due primarily to 14 offensive boards for the hosts. Albright made 7-of-14 total three-point attempts and shot 68.4% (13-of-19) in the first half.

Junior Amanda Tiritilli had 17 points and made 5-of-6 threes (83.3%), equaling the second-best outside shooting performance in school history. The record is held by Rita Baran, who was 6-for-7 from three-point range in a game vs. Haverford back in 1992.

Freshman Shannon Thomas had 13 points and four assists for Albright. Sophomore Kelecia Harris added 11 points and five rebounds.

Midway through the half, Tiritilli picked up a loose ball and spotted up for a three that gave Albright a 20-19 advantage. Neither side led by more than three until Tiritilli's long range triple put the Lions up 25-21 after 11:43 played. Kadijah Bishop's putback stretched the Lions' gap to 27-21.

Second chance points hurt Albright late in the opening half however. The Dutchmen finished off three put-backs in a stretch of 2:36, two from Peyton Carper sandwiching one from Lexie Lantz. Alyssa Cirucci added four straight points to put LVC back on top, 33-31.

Harris chased down a loose ball and beat the shot clock buzzer to tie it again at 33-all. LVC led 41-36 at the half after yet another put-back from Carper in the final minute, as the hosts pulled down nine offensive boards in the first period.

Carper drove to her left to open the second half scoring and stretch an LVC run to 20-6. Harris broke the slump with a short jumper and Boyle followed up a missed three to cut Albright's deficit to 47-42.

The Dutchmen continued to crash the offensive glass however. Lantz earned free throws after two more offensive rebounds; she missed the back half of the second pair and LVC got yet another board, taking a 55-46 lead on Lauren Ruhl's jumper. Lantz completed a put-back the next time down the floor to stretch the gap to double-digits, 57-46.

Thomas was firing from downtown to open the game- hitting the game's first basket from behind the arc, and then sinking another three to make it 8-6 Albright after Kristi McFadden had drawn the extra defender.

The teams traded baskets early, as Caitlin Bach's jumper put LVC up 10-8 before Meghan Boyle completed a nice post move to tie the game. Harris evened things up again at 14-14, and Bridget Rothert answered immediately with a three-pointer for the Dutchmen.

The Lions tried to battle back in the second half on multiple occasions. Boyle's three-point play kept the score at 57-49, and Emily O'Donnell's lefty flip cut LVC's lead to 61-56. Carper answered with an off-balance three from the corner for the Dutchmen however.

Albright falls to 12-9, 6-8 and will host Hood on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Defending Commonwealth Conference champions Lebanon Valley are 16-4, 10-3 on the year.
