Guard Brittany Berry scored a season-high 20 points to help the Hope College women's basketball team defeat Olivet College 70-58 Wednesday in a matchup of nationally ranked Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's teams.

Coach Brian Morehouse's Flying Dutch improved to 17-0 overall and 9-0 in MIAA play while moving two games up in the loss column on both Olivet and Calvin College.

Hope hosts Calvin (12-5, 7-2 MIAA) on Saturday at 3 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch are ranked No. 2 in the USA Today NCAA Division III Coaches poll and No. 4 by d3hoops.com.

Berry topped her previous season high by eight points against Olivet, ranked No. 24 by d3hoops.com. The senior from Grand Rapids (Catholic Central HS) shot 50 percent from the field (8-of-16) and 3-point range (4-of-8).

The Flying Dutch outscored Olivet 12-6 over the final 2 minutes, 13 seconds to secure the win in front of a DeVos Fieldhouse crowd of 1,642.

Sophomore forward Maura McAfee of Midland (Midland HS) chipped in for Hope her eighth double-double of the season.

The 6-0 McAfee finished with 12 points, a game-high 11 rebounds and a game-high five steals while also guarding 6-4 Olivet center Stefanie Lang — the MIAA's leading scorer at 20.7 points per game. Lang finished with 16 points.

The Flying Dutch also had two other players score in double figures.

Senior guard Anna Kaufmann of Davenport, Iowa (Davenport Central HS) netted 12 points off the bench for Hope, while senior guard Megan Kelley of Rockford (Rockford HS) totaled 11 points.
