Keystone Cruises to 83-46 Victory at Cairn

Langhorne, PA – Jazmyn Robinson (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) scored a game-high 21 points and set a career-high with nine steals while Jerica Rode (Lords Valley, PA/Wallenpaupack) recorded the first double-double of her collegiate career to lead Keystone College to an 83-46 victory in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at Cairn University.  The Giants improve to 12-7 overall on the season with the win and 6-4 in conference play.
 
Keystone built a 34-22 lead at halftime after shooting 36.6 percent from the field while holding Cairn (1-15, 1-10 CSAC) to 31 percent shooting in the half.  The Giants more than doubled the Highlanders in the second half, outscoring the hosts 49-24 in the final 20 minutes of play to secure the 37-point win.
 
Robinson's game-high 21 points came on 9-17 shooting and the junior guard's nine steals are tied for the fourth-most in a single game in school history.  Robinson also tied for a game-high with six assists while pulling in six rebounds.  Rode netted 14 points and corralled a game-high 11 boards while adding a pair of blocks for the first double-double of her career while AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) finished a rebound shy of a double-double of her own after finishing the contest with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Ashley Evans (Wooster, OH/Wooster) was the fourth Giants' player in double figures after netting 14 points on the night.
 
As a team, Keystone shot 38.6 percent from the field in the game while going 4-16 (25 percent) from beyond the arc and 15-26 (57.7 percent) from the free throw line.  The Giants also forced Cairn to turn the ball over 31 times while giving it away just 13 times in the victory.  The visitors also held a 45-33 advantage in rebounds on the night.
 
EJ Hartzler led the Highlanders with 14 points while Emily Tambussi netted 12 points in the loss.  Amie Eppolito tied for a game-high with six assists while Tambussi, Brigid Shehan, and Regina Younger each had eight boards to tie for the team lead.
 
Cairn connected on 29.5 percent of their attempts from the floor on the night while going 4-17 (23.5 percent) from three-point land and 60 percent from the charity stripe.   
 
Keystone returns to the court on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Rosemont College for a 1:00 p.m. conference game in Rosemont, PA.
