Four Cavaliers Score Double Figures as Cabrini Women Down the Defenders

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Four Cavaliers scored in double figures tonight as the Blue and White improved to 15-4 overall and 9-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with its 73-41 win at Baptist bible College. 

Junior Amber Keys led the way with 17 points in 18 minutes off the bench on 8-10 shooting.  Senior Brittany Sandone shot 6-10 from the floor for 15 points to go with four assists and three steals.  Fellow senior Annie Rivituso connected on 6-8 field goal attempts for 14 points on the night, while sophomore Meghan Martin chipped in with 10.

The Cavaliers posted the first seven points of the night and never looked back.  The Blue and White connected on over 55% of its first half field goal attempts as it built a 40-16 lead at the half.  Cabrini held the Defenders to just 8-22 shooting and forced 11 first half turnovers.

The Blue and White continued its solid play after the break, as Baptist Bible got no closer than 23 points.  Its lead swelled to as many as 30 points on Sandone's lay-up with just over five minutes to play.

For the game, the Cavaliers shot 48.4% from the field, its highest field goal percentage in its last 10 games.  The club's seven made three pointers also marked its best distance output since a January 3 victory over Juniata.  Tonight also marked the third time this season the Blue and white has held its opponents without a three pointer, as the Defenders misfired on its three attempts.

Carissa Erdman and Maeghin Mueller tallied 12 points each for Baptist Bible (1-12, 1-9 CSAC).

The Blue and White will continue its road trip on Saturday as it visits Marywood University.  Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Scranton, Pa.
