New York, NY -- Despite a spirited comeback attempt in the second half of Wednesday's game versus the John Jay College Bloodhounds, The City College of New York women's basketball lost 63-55. A big second half run brought the Beavers within one point midway through the second half but the Bloodhounds held them off to secure the win.

Bria Fisher's 16 point, 16 rebound performance helped keep the Beavers close, but her efforts were not enough. Karissa Core contributed 19 points connecting on three 3-pointers. Giovanna Blanco added ten rebounds, six offensive, in the Beaver's effort.

Double doubles by Tyana Hale and Jamecia Forsythe helped power John Jay to the win. Hale posted 16 points and ten rebounds while Forsythe added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Amber Villegas had six points and five assists in the win.

Poor shooting and sloppy ball handling was the difference for CCNY. 22 turnovers and a 25% shooting percentage ultimately doomed the Beavers in the matchup.

The loss drops CCNY's record to 6-10, 3-6 within CUNY. John Jay's record improves to 6-11, 4-5 within CUNY. They will travel to Brooklyn on Friday for a CUNYAC matchup versus Medgar Evers at 6 p.m.
