GREENSBORO, N.C. – Brittany Glasco scored 20 points to rally Virginia Wesleyan past Guilford, 56-52, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game Saturday afternoon at Ragan Brown Field House.

The Quakers (10-3, 2-2 ODAC) held a 43-31 lead midway through the second half and appeared to have the game well in hand. But Glasco hit a 3-pointer to jump start a 15-2 run for the Marlins. Glasco had seven points in the run, including a layup at the 3:26 mark to give the visitors a 46-45 lead.

Morgan King hit a bucket to give the lead back to Guilford but Glasco quickly responded with a jumper to give the Marlins (10-3, 4-0 ODAC) the lead and they never trailed again.

King led the Quakers with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Early in the second half she hit a bucket to give her 1,000 points in her Guilford career. The game momentarily stopped to commemorate the occasion.

Lila Scott came off the bench to add 11 points for the Quakers.

Guilford struggled with a three-quarter court press that Virginia Wesleyan used in the second half, which kept them from entering into their offense quickly. Also hurting the Quakers was the visitors going to the line 22 times, compared to just six for Guilford. The Marlins held a 12-2 edge in made free throws.

The Quakers return to action Tuesday night, when they host ODAC rival Hollins in a 7:00 pm game.
